We have an exciting update to share! Thanks to your generous contributions, we have reached a significant milestone. As of today, we have raised an impressive $8,859 towards our goal of $20,210 for the Haitian Dental Clinic! We are almost halfway to our fundraising goal, with almost 50% of our target achieved.
We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to each and everyone of you who has contributed to this cause. Your support is essential to providing dental care to the Haitian people.
Looking ahead, we have two trips on the horizon this summer. We are so excited to get back to the people and places we love—the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua! Our hope is that one day soon it will be possible to return to Haiti and care for the community that has seen so much turmoil.
Nicaragua Summer Trip (June 25-July 2)
We have 17 people attending this trip, including medical professionals who will join health promoters in conducting home visits and organizing health fairs in communities with limited healthcare access.
The rest of the team will run a baseball and softball camp for children aged 7-17 in a community facing challenges like gang involvement, school dropout rates, and health issues. The camp aims to engage these children through sports while teaching them about healthy lifestyles and boosting their self-esteem. Additionally, we’ll organize an education enrichment event at the Bless Back Business Academy trade school, featuring woodworking and cake decorating classes.
Dominican Republic Summer Trip (July 20-27)
Our trip to the Dominican Republic involves a group of 24 individuals, including 12 youth from the Moments of Hope Church in Charlotte. They will collaborate with local Dominican masons to construct housing for 12 families who lost their homes in a fire last summer. Thanks to a generous donation from the Moments ofHope Church, most of the building materials’ costs have been covered.
